Larnaca city is built along its seafront, with the Finikoudes promenade and its palms forming the social spine of the town. Behind it sit the market, the old Turkish quarter and a working commercial centre. It is compact enough to live in without a car, which very few places in Cyprus can claim, and the airport is a short drive south.
